Transparency – A Foundation Value
The Foundation Board and Staff are open and honest with one another,
the community, donors and Foundation grantees. We encourage the
highest standards of conduct and ethics in all our work. With a
culture of respect permeating all activities, we make it easy for
all segments of our community – residents, donors, nonprofits,
government, and other funders – to feel connected with the
Foundation in order to make our own resources more effective. Clear,
coherent and simple communications advance the Foundation’s
mission by enhancing the impact of our image-building, grantmaking
and the effective use of our resources.
You are welcome to come to the office to read our Articles of Incorporation,
our By-Laws and to review our Audit, our 990 and our current policies
and fee structure. Just call and make an appointment!
Prior to the merger, Crested Butte Community Foundation financials were part of the Dallas Foundation's annual audit. The GACF audit summaries are available in pdf format on this website, and our 990s are available at Guidestar.org. The CFGV is not currently required to file a 990-T with the IRS;
should the Foundation ever be required to file a 990-T, that information
would also be available for public inspection in our office and
online for the year in which it was filed.
When the 2007 audit is completed, the CFGV audit will contain figures for both Foundations: GACF for all of 2007 and CBCF for November and December 2007. This audit will also be available online.
