Grant Fund
Your gift can support the 2011 Grant Cycle.
Supporting our local non-profits makes you feel good and provides them with a needed boost.
Lift up the Valley’s nonprofits with a gift to the community.
Valley nonprofits give character to the County and define who we are as interdependent communities. Without our nonprofits, Gunnison County would be a different place indeed! There would be no live theatre, no museums, no place for those who are abused to seek help . . . and so much more would be missing.
Every dollar counts and combines with others to make a bigger impact in our Grant Cycle.
Each year we invite nonprofits to submit proposals requesting grant funds . . . and a panel of community folks review the requests and recommends to our Board which programs/agencies should receive funding.
Giving to the Grants Fund allows you to touch many parts of the nonprofit world.
This past summer, the Foundation granted in the areas of Arts and Culture, Community Development, Environment, Education, Health and Human Services, Athletics and Recreation and Historical Tradition and Preservation. Click to see the list of grantees from this year and those past.
 Imagination Library
In collaboration with Dolly Parton’s Dollywood Foundation and CFGV donors, every month a new, carefully selected book is mailed to each preschool child in Gunnison and Hinsdale counties who is registered with the program. Reading to a child during preschool years is the biggest boost toward a successful education we can give our children. Valley children are excited to grow their very own library and look forward to “their” mail arriving. In Dolly’s own words, “If my Imagination Library helps turn the dreams of a child into the promise of a bright future, then one of my biggest dreams will come true.” Currently 300 youngsters are served by this program.
CFGV Unrestricted Fund
An unrestricted gift allows the Foundation to respond to local changing needs and supports Foundation Programs like the Nonprofit Board Development Series of Seminars, the Speak Your Peace Project and the Volunteer of the Year award.
