The Community Foundation of the Gunnison Valley (CFGV) is a reflection of the great value our citizens place on our community, its heritage, its people and its communities.

Our nonprofits provide many of the services that make our Valley unique and our donors generously support those services through the Foundation’s programs and funds.

The CFGV promotes active philanthropy by stewarding charitable gifts and making effective grants. The Foundation also helps grow the capacity of the Valley’s nonprofits with technical assistance and referrals to resources within the valley and elsewhere in the state. Our resource list also provides internet links to important nonprofit cyber-resources.

Part of our mission is to help connect charitably minded citizens to nonprofit organizations working to improve the lives of Valley residents. The Community Foundation of the Gunnison Valley also serves as a civic leader, convener and sponsor of special initiatives.

We look to strengthen our nonprofit agencies in the areas of art and culture, community development, environment, education, human services, athletics, recreation, historical tradition and domestic animal welfare and protection. Our annual Competitive Grant Cycle funds today’s needs with today’s dollars. The Foundation is also growing endowments that will support changing and emerging community needs far into the future.
